Voldemort is a villain-hero in Gothic tradition and James Potter was an arrogant arse until he fell in love with Lily Evans in his seventh year at Hogwarts.

I ought to have stopped reading at that point. I must be harbouring a secret fascination with masochism, because I didn't. By the end of the book I was ready to do a Dobby and bang my head against the nearest available hard surface.

Is there anyone willing to read my fest fic for me? No SPaG, just read through and tell me whether it's okay so far or not. Perhaps tell me what I could do better.

There's no smut yet. I meant to write that today, but I'm so unhappy with the last bits I wrote yesterday that I can't go on. And for some reason I really can't figure out what it is I don't like about the last couple of hundred words.

Um, the fic's 21k so far. Meant to be Harry/Charlie, but mentions other pairings. DH compliant.
