SS/HP/DM, or The Question of a Name
My OT3 should have a name says [info]ladybahiya, and I totally agree with her. But now the question is

So, what do we call them?

Unlike other pairings including Severus Snape, there is no catchy name for the threesome. Similar to the plight of the SS/HG shippers, we have to use their initals or their names. Unlike the SS/HG shippers, we don't even have a more or less uniform way of referring to our favourite three. There is a well of possible combinations of the initials SS, HP, and DM (six, to be more precise) or of the names Snape, Harry, Draco (six again, and another six if you use Severus instead of Snape). According to Adam Riese that makes 18 different possible combinations.

Now, these calculations aren't simply theory. I had - apparently - time to spare, so I googled all of the 18 combinations. For some combinations I had more hits, for others less, but they were all used. All of them.

I must have had a lot of time to spare, because I did the same on IJ and LJ. Tried all 18 combinations in the little "Interest" box. It was very interesting to see that none of the combinations that had Draco first got a result while those with Snape or Harry first had lots. That reduces 18 to 12 combinations. Still, who else but me is crazy enough to try all of them looking for like-minded people (and stories)?

But leaving the whole searching and becoming lost thing aside, I really want my OT3 to have a name. Something unique that refers to those three men together. Apart from all other possible reasons, it's shorter and easier to use than all of the initials/names.

Now the really good question is: which name?

[info]ladybahiya suggests, though perhaps not entirely in earnest, Harsnapo and Draharus.

[info]ravenna_c_tan has termed it the SHaDy threesome. In answer to her list of threesomes, there were other suggestions for a name: SPaM, Snarrarco, even the quite poetic 'Snake Sandwich With Lion Filling'. (Would that be SSwLF??)

And I found even more: Snarco, Snarryco, Snacory, Snacoarry, Drapery ...

The first one of those that I found was Snarco, and I must admit that I like it. It's short, doesn't sound too ridiculous, and is in keeping with other Snape-pairings (Snarry, Snaco, Snupin ...). But that's only me.

Now I'd like to hear what you think. Which one of the suggestions do you like best? Or do you have another suggestion?

And for the record:

Draharus
Drapery
Harsnapo
SHaDy
Snacoarry
Snacory
Snarco
Snarrarco
Snarryco
SPaM
'Snake Sandwich with Lion Filling' (still, would that become SSwLF? That sure is an insider name)

Perhaps we can even manage to agree on one ... ^-^

Oh, that's a nice name too! Snottleroys. *giggles* Reminds me of Little Lord Fauntleroy. And do I detect a hint of snotty? Definitely a good name! :D
