The more fics I write, the more bunnies hop around
The other night, while I was trying to fall asleep, a bunny hopped unto my bed. It was a Harry/Scorpius bunny, and it was real pretty. If I weren't already working on a Harry/Scorpius epic, I'd write the fic. It began as the story of Scorpius having an invisible friend whose name is Bauko. It was suddenly there - Scorpius's invisible friend's name is Bauko. *shrugs* Who am I to deny the Story?

The story starts with the Malfoy family being worried about Scorpius's invisible friend. The Muggles might shrug off their children's invisible friends, but in the wizarding world, it's a different thing. Who knows who or what the invisible friend is? So the Malfoys get specialists in to find out about Bauko. In the end, it's a witch from Switzerland who discovers the truth.

Bauko isn't a person. Bauko is the Future.

Scorpius is a Seer, a highly gifted Seer. Unlike most other Seers, who get occasional flashes of the future - like Trelawney - Scorpius is, basically, in constant contact with the Prophecy Demons (as the RedHen likes to call the powers that govern Seers). But Scorpius is only a child of four. He is far too young to even begin to understand what is going on. So in order to make things make sense to him, he personalised the future, and called that character Bauko.

The Malfoys are relieved that nothing is wrong with Scorpius, though still worried about the consequences of the boy's talents on his life. They keep Scorpius's gift a secret within the family.

When Scorpius is six, Harry Potter comes to the Manor. He is the Head Auror and investigating some horrible crime with the potential of causing chaos in the wizarding world. Several things point to Draco as the perpetrator, but Harry knows it can't have been him. Nevertheless, he has to come and investigate.

Harry and Draco sit together and discuss the situation. Astoria, who isn't aware that Harry is there, enters the study with Scorpius in tow, looking for her husband. Scorpius sees Harry, and instantly his eyes become vague - a sign, Draco knows, that Scorpius is listening to Bauko. He signals Astoria to leave, but of course she can't dash out of the room and has to greet Harry, and that's time enough for Scorpius to get things sorted. He looks straight at Harry and tells him he has to be careful, there is danger ahead. Harry doesn't understand what is going on, but he is patient with the child.

To Draco's immense relief, Harry is also visibly disbelieving that what Scorpius says is anything more than childish chatter. But then Scorpius has to go ahead and give Harry clues about the case he's working on. That changes things, because Scorpius tells Harry things Harry has been suspecting but can't prove. 'Bauko says,' declares Scorpius, and points Harry to where he can find evidence.

Astoria then tries to leave with Scorpius, who dashes to Harry, clings to him, and begs him to be really, really careful, please! Harry promises. Scorpius seems content and leaves. Harry and Draco talk some more, and then Draco walks Harry to the door. At the top of the great staircase in the entrance hall, Scorpius watches Harry leave the house. When the door closes, he comes down and, in answer to Draco's gentle scolding for interrupting earlier and hanging around now, he declares, 'When I'm grown-up, I'm going to marry Harry Potter!'

End chapter one.

TBC.

I like it. The expression on Draco's face was priceless!

I so need to write this bunny. The longer I think about it, the more I like it. Hm, hmmm ... Think I'll put it on the List of Bunnies to Write somewhere after Draco Dormiens. Or before? Decisions, decisions.

Though it's probably futile to even think about deciding what to write next. I mean, there's first my hp_yule_balls fic, and then the Snarry Swap fic, and after these are done, I want to go back to working on some of my many WIPs: Just a Fantasy, Blood Magic, and the aforementioned Harry/Scorpius epic. That's five fics between me and a decision.

Could someone please shoot all the other bunnies that I know are just waiting for me to not be paying attention to pounce?
